Thailand police say a 14-year-old teenage boy killed six people in an area in the north of Bangkok. According to police, he first murdered his grandfather and grandmother at their home, and then went to school and killed four of his school teachers with gunfire.
After the attacks, the student shot himself and died on the way to the hospital. Fifteen people were also injured in the attack, and the condition of two of them has been reported as critical.
Police say the teenager had a handgun belonging to his grandfather and fired 26 bullets.
News of the attack has shocked Thailand, and Thailand’s prime minister expressed condolences to the victims’ families. Thailand’s deputy interior minister said that, based on evidence the police found at the home, the teenager had a strong interest in video games.
One of the school’s teachers said about him that the teenager was “a good boy with a good academic record” and that no aggressive behavior had been seen from him.
