The documentary fiction film “The Court of History” deals with Iran after the Islamic Republic and raises the question of how the crimes committed by the Islamic Republic and its instigators and perpetrators should be dealt with. Widespread violations of human rights and crimes against humanity, suppression and oppression and discrimination, prisons, torture, killings and massacres are a dark record of a government that, over half a century, by erasing the meaning of courts and the administration of justice, turned the judiciary into an executive arm of state violence against citizens. How to deal with these perpetrators and this widespread violence has a fundamental impact on the course of the Iranian people’s movement toward democracy and justice.
