The European Union and several member countries summoned officials from the Russian embassy following attempts to carry out a drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport last month.

On Tuesday, Germany concluded that Russia was responsible for the incident and put on the agenda the closure of a Russian consulate and a Russian cultural center in Berlin.

Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said at a meeting of the EU foreign ministers in Ireland that the EU’s diplomatic service summoned the Russian ambassador to Brussels.

The foreign ministers of France, the Netherlands, and Belgium also announced that they have summoned Russia’s ambassadors in their respective countries.

Russia’s ambassador in Germany was also summoned on Tuesday.
