The impact of low-quality domestically produced gasoline on cars and the lives of citizens; an interview with Farogh Jirani
🔸 In recent years, reports have indicated that Iran’s domestically produced gasoline has been of poor quality, but it now appears that the quality of the fuel has declined further and has had negative effects on cars. Users on social media have called the new gasoline a disaster and say that it damages gaskets and hoses due to its corrosiveness, has low thermal value, and a low octane rating. However, the Ministry of Oil has repeatedly emphasized that Iran’s gasoline meets standard requirements. Farogh Jirani, an environmental expert and a former colleague of Iran’s Department of the Environment, living in Germany, tells Radio Farda about the impact of this gasoline on Iran’s environment.
