The Pentagon admitted that a U.S. military operation in Yemen in 2025 resulted in 153 civilians being killed and 243 people being injured, all of whom were killed in attacks against Iran-linked Houthis.
The figures are being released as the Pentagon faces criticism due to major shortcomings in its programs to reduce harm to civilians; reports say that since March 2025, the number of personnel in these programs has decreased by about 90 percent.
