The South China Morning Post reported that China, simultaneously with the expansion of the consequences of the Iran war, has launched its first regular shipping service in the Arctic. This route bypasses the dangerous waterways of the Middle East and reduces the sea transit time for goods from China to Britain to 20 days; almost half the time required for the Suez Canal route. The plan is part of cooperation between China and Russia to develop the “Polar Silk Road.”
