The U.S. Navy was secretly engaged for four months in clearing Iranian mines from the Strait of Hormuz.

Small teams of naval divers and underwater robots used sonar to locate Iranian mines, which were then destroyed using explosives.

Trump announced that the mines had been cleared, but shipping companies are still being cautious, as Iran may once again mine the strait and missile and drone attacks continue as well.
