The U.S. State Department said that Marco Rubio, the U.S. secretary of state, and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the national security adviser of the United Arab Emirates, discussed regional security and coordination to confront the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces.
According to the U.S. State Department, Rubio emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation and maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
