The UN Security Council in its current form reflects the international situation of 1945 rather than today's realities, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said at the 81st UN General Assembly session.

She called urgent reform "a crucial issue," stressing the need to increase both permanent and non-permanent membership.
