The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. government officials, reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, after weeks of media reports about a decline in Pentagon ammunition stockpiles following the war with the Islamic Republic, has ordered new investigations into the disclosure of information related to these stockpiles.

As the newspaper wrote, these investigations are focused on identifying the source of the leak of information about the status of U.S. ammunition stockpiles.

The move comes as recent reports about the reduction of some U.S. armament stockpiles, alongside the continuation of the war with the Islamic Republic, have become a contentious issue in Washington.
