🔻Turkish parliament, by approving a law, finalized the peace process with the PKK group. Under this law, former members of this group will be exempt from prosecution if they are disarmed. It is also possible that hundreds of Kurdish politicians and PKK members could be released from prison. Abdullah Öcalan, the imprisoned leader of the PKK, is currently not covered by this law. The decades-long conflict between this group and the Turkish government has left about forty thousand dead. The law has been passed while Mr. Erdoğan needs the support of parties aligned with Kurds to continue in power.
