The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization said it has received a report about an incident involving an oil tanker and military forces in the Gulf of Oman.
A warning was published on Tuesday and its source was the ship’s captain.
The organization said that the authorities are aware and investigations are ongoing. The map attached to the warning shows the location of the incident in the Gulf of Oman and near Gwadar, Pakistan; a point much farther east than the Strait of Hormuz, within the area where the United States carries out its maritime blockade of Iranian ports.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization did not announce the name of the vessel, the flag state, or the nature of the military forces involved.
By Sunday, the U.S. Central Command had diverted 55 commercial vessels as part of the blockade from Iran’s ports and had disabled two vessels and inspected two other vessels.
