The fact-finding committee of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva called for the use of the principle of universal jurisdiction to prosecute the perpetrators of genocide and crimes against human rights on 18 and 19 Dey by the Islamic Republic. The report was met with approval from the UK, the European Union, and global human rights organizations.
