Videos released on social media show the bed of the river in Aligoodarz, Lorestan province, has been asphalted.

Mohammad Lotfi Mianjai, the mayor of Aligoodarz, said in response to the publication of these images that the project was carried out to organize the riverbed, which has not had permanent water for years. According to him, by controlling the overflow flows, there is no concern about flooding and overflowing, and part of the riverbed has been converted into a parking area, a weekly market, and an urban space.
