🔻Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, despite the intensification of Moscow’s hostile rhetoric toward Britain and its other NATO allies due to their support for Ukraine, does not want to engage in a direct military confrontation with this alliance; this is the assessment of Western officials.
Some reports suggest that CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s trip to Moscow this week was, to some extent, intended to warn Russia about any possible attack on one of the NATO members.
However, Western officials who did not want to be named said that Moscow’s recent warnings, including about the possibility of targeting British forces in the future or attacking this country’s arms factories, “are nothing new.”
