🔸 Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, threatened European countries that if they try to sell the seized cargoes from ships linked to the country’s “shadow fleet,” it will retaliate.
🔸 According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Putin said during Russia’s naval exercises in the Pacific Ocean on 21 Mordad: “This is nothing less than piracy and plunder.”
🔸 His remarks refer to Europe’s plans to intensify measures against ships suspected of helping Moscow to bypass Western sanctions.
🔸 Putin added: “If these actions are put into effect, we will be forced to respond in the same way.”
🔸 He also said, without providing details, that Moscow will not limit its response only to the waters where Russian ships were seized.
🔸 Western governments have increased their efforts in recent months to target Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
