Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff, president of Ukraine, said Kyiv will be preparing to resume trilateral talks in October.

Kyrilo Budanov, on the sidelines of a conference in Kyiv, told reporters: “We will prepare for negotiations. In October.”

His remarks were made a few days after the visit by Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the United States’ envoys, to Moscow and Kyiv.

The latest trilateral meeting was held in Geneva in February. Diplomatic efforts led by the United States were halted after that, because Washington had focused on confronting the Islamic Republic.

Zelensky had said that the two envoys had put forward “very worthy and valuable ideas,” and that Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, or Switzerland could host a new meeting.
