Oil pollution—what did it do with Qeshm?

War doesn’t only kill people; sometimes it moves with waves and water currents, traveling kilometers away to reach the shore and entangle people’s lives. Now oil slicks have reached the southern coasts of Qeshm and the Hara mangrove forests. Hara mangrove forests are one of the most important coastal ecosystems in Iran, and the wellbeing of aquatic life and birds, the protection of the shores, the livelihoods, and the food security of people in the region depend on them.

Qeshm could have been a destination for tourists around the world; but the Islamic Republic has turned it into a military target.
