🔸 The New York Times: Iran knew the exact location of Trump’s stay in Ankara
The New York Times reported that Iran, during Donald Trump, the U.S. president’s, presence at the NATO summit in Ankara, knew his exact location, including the floor of the hotel building where he was staying.
According to the New York Times report, information obtained by U.S. intelligence agencies at the time indicated that Iranians knew the exact location of Trump’s presence in Turkey’s capital.
The report says that the level of detail in Iran’s intelligence included a floor of the hotel where the U.S. president was staying.
The New York Times also wrote that U.S. intelligence agencies had information about a possible plan to fire a surface-to-air missile at Air Force One.
As the newspaper wrote, a report was also received about the presence of a person with a shoulder-fired missile near the venue of the NATO summit.
Based on this report, the seriousness of the threats led U.S. security officials to decide to remove Trump from Ankara in secrecy.
