🔹I’m a 20-year-old student. In a few days, the universities will reopen, and my body shakes because of the costs; we’ve been left with nothing in terms of spending on food and essentials. Every morning I get up, there’s nothing but suffering and misery. When will this dark period end?

🔹With all this inflation, can you study? Calculate this: how much is a Bic blue pen—70,000 tomans?

🔹The government doesn’t spare its own revenue in any way—like taxes, water, electricity, gas, customs, gasoline—but it expects people to be brief in their demands!

🔹They take the wheat at 49 tomans per kilo and don’t pay the money for two months; this is no longer incompetence. It’s a bunch of useless officials messing with the livelihood of the farmer with the farmer’s own earnings.

🔹In Tehran there’s no electricity, the internet is weak and very often there are outages. Everything is expensive, and at night the “flags” take away our peace.

🔹I’m sending a message from Shiraz. I went to a pharmacy to buy a decongestant-drying pill for a cold; it cost 130,000 tomans. Just a little while ago, we bought it for 20,000 tomans.

🔹I’m sending a message from Hamadan. Food prices have gone up and their portions are smaller. They’ve halved the size of a cake. A hamburger pack that used to be six pieces is now four—700,000 tomans. Pizza cheese is 1,000,000 tomans per kilo.

🔹The inflation is horrifying. Now it’s in the middle of the month, and I’m left with only two million tomans in my account. What should I do with it, really?

🔹I’m sending a message from Bandar Abbas. The price of 10-kilo rice is rising like it’s going up by the second. We truly don’t have purchasing power. They sell a new-condition 12,000 BTU air conditioner panel for 20 million. From stress and fear, we don’t sleep at night.
