A deputy of the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic said that volunteer activities serving war wounded are among the new criteria for assessing applicants for recruitment to the faculty (board of faculty) of universities of medical sciences. Tahereh Chengiz, in an interview with ISNA news agency, added that this criterion had previously received less attention in the point-scoring process.

She said: “Volunteer activities in serving war wounded, groups in need, as well as training for lower ranks, are valuable in our view.”

Chengiz added that these changes are “radical and major” not, but an effort has been made to include some issues in the new bylaw that had previously not been considered in point scoring.

According to her, volunteer services during the period before joining the faculty board, during the conscription period, as well as during residency or as a student are also considered valuable.
