A senior Israeli official described the Makkah defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan as concerning and said it is an alliance with an anti-Israel orientation.

In response to regional developments, the official said there is also a possibility that Egypt will join the Makkah alliance, and that Israel should form alternative alliances with Greece, Cyprus, India and the United Arab Emirates at the center. He also emphasized that Israel needs a broad program to strengthen its military capabilities.
