A source close to the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic told Tasnim news agency, a media outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, that contrary to some reports, Asim Munir, the commander of the Pakistan army, who had traveled to Iran on Monday, was not carrying a message of threat or a similar message from the United States, but rather his goal was to pave the way for the resumption of negotiations and “to transfer Tehran’s conditions and positions to Washington.”

The source added that the Islamic Republic’s positions regarding the Strait of Hormuz have been clearly communicated to the Pakistani side.

Tasnim, citing this source, wrote that the United States’ return to the Islamabad understandings and the implementation of their provisions, including the fifth clause about “Iran’s arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz,” are among Tehran’s conditions. According to this source, these conditions were raised through the Pakistani side, and Pakistan is seeking to convey them to the U.S. side.
