A source familiar with the case told Iran International that Mohsen (Mehردad) Takesh, a 33-year-old citizen in Isfahan, has been sentenced to two executions on charges of “enmity against God” related to the protests of last December.

Takesh, who lives in Dezicheh in Isfahan, was arrested during the crackdown on the protests in the last week of December. A source familiar with the case told Iran International that he was severely tortured during his detention and that his hand was broken as a result of the torture.

According to the source, under pressure and torture, Takesh was forced to accept allegations attributed to him by his interrogators, and these forced confessions were the basis for the case being formed and the sentence being issued against him.

The family of Takesh, for up to about four months after his arrest, did not have accurate information about his place of detention or his condition. After four months of silence, he contacted his family from Ward A-eT of Hand Garad Prison in Isfahan.

A source familiar with the case told Iran International that, in addition to confessions taken from Takesh under pressure and torture, there is no other document or evidence to support the charges raised against him in the case.

Prior to his arrest, Mohsen Takesh had a motorcycle repair shop in Dezicheh and supported himself through this work.
