According to Samira Qarai from Iran International, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Monday, the Second of Shahrivar, the start of a campaign of economic removal of the Islamic Republic and said that at the end of this campaign, the Iranian government will be isolated and face an economic collapse.

Mr. Bessent said at a press conference that five sectors—gold, cryptocurrency, shipping, aviation, and technology—have been put under “sectoral designation,” and that any person or entity anywhere in the world that helps the Islamic Republic in these areas will be subject to sanctions, without the United States needing to verify their connection to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

At the same time, new sanctions have been imposed against 60 individuals, entities, and ships, as well as hackers affiliated with the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Intelligence. He added that Washington, by expanding secondary sanctions, is raising the cost of doing business with the Islamic Republic, and expects other countries to join the United Arab Emirates and cut their commercial relations with the Iranian government.
