According to the Pentagon’s casualty database, the number of U.S. servicemembers killed in two categories of “Operation Epic Fury” and “Overseas Operations” has reached 19.

The figures were updated after the death of Bianca C. Wilkerson, a 37-year-old U.S. Army officer from Norfolk, Virginia. The U.S. Army said Wilkerson died on 27 Shahrivar due to a non-combat incident while flying to Saudi Arabia.

In Doha, Qatar, Wilkerson supported overseas operations and was assigned to the U.S. Army Central Command and the Third Army at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.

After her death, the U.S. Army upgraded her rank from captain to major and announced that investigations into the incident
