Ahmad al-Sharaa, head of the Syrian government, and Mazloum Abdi, commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), met in Damascus on Tuesday and discussed the integration of these forces into state institutions and the next steps in this process.

According to the Syrian state news agency SANA, both sides emphasized strengthening the state’s presence and supporting security and stability in Syria.

After the meeting, Abdi announced the end of the SDF’s mission and its dissolution as an independent military force. He said this decision was taken after completing the integration of SDF forces into the units of the Syrian army, and that it marks a new phase centered on peace, stability, and rebuilding the country.

Abdi said: “We want this day to be a real transition from the battlefields to the fields of construction, and from the era of weapons to the era of peace.”

He also said that al-Sharaa has repeatedly emphasized the right to education in Kurdish, and that implementation of this program will begin this year.

Abdi added that the goal is to build a united and stable Syria for Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, and Assyrians that will ensure the future of the children of this country and their достой proper life.
