🔸 Ambrey says it is working to rescue an oil tanker leaking in the Sea of Oman

The British maritime security company “Ambrey” said it is attempting to rescue the ship “Carolyn Buzngi” off the coast of Oman; the oil tanker was carrying Russian oil and, due to an incident, oil is leaking from it into the sea.

The Oman Environment Authority reported on Wednesday, August 12, a day before this news was announced, that an oil slick originating from this vessel had reached the coasts of the country. The agency warned that after weeks of almost uncontrolled spread, the incident could turn into one of the worst oil disasters in the world in recent years.

According to Reuters, Ambrey said in a statement on Thursday that it has signed a contract with an “international forward company in dealing with oil spills” and is working in cooperation with Oman and other relevant parties to secure the Carolyn Buzngi tanker.

Ambrey did not name the company responsible for responding to the oil spill and also did not provide a specific timetable, but said that the operation involves rescue ships, aircraft, and specialists using 100 tons of equipment.
