“An alliance against the pieces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” with the publication of a statement on the social network X, condemned the “highly reported attempted attack” against Foad Pashaei, the secretary-general of the Iran’s Constitutional Party (liberal democrat), in Los Angeles. The group emphasized: “An Iranian political opponent should not have to worry about their life simply because they speak out against the Islamic Republic; neither in Tehran, nor in Europe, and certainly not in the United States.” The statement said that the United States should not become “a hunting ground for those who intend to silence Iranian opponents.” The group called on the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI, and other related federal agencies to carry out a complete and transparent investigation into the attack, including the possibility of involvement by a foreign government. The group emphasized: “If evidence shows that the Islamic Republic or its proxy forces played a role in this attack, then all those involved— from the masterminds to the perpetrators, and those who facilitated its execution on American soil—must be held accountable.” At the end of the statement it said: “Transnational repression must have consequences. Opponents of the Islamic Republic should be able to live and speak freely, without having to worry about the government’s ability to reach them in the United States.”
