Asaad al-Shibani, Syria’s foreign minister, on Friday August 30, during an official visit to Pakistan, said that the Islamic Republic must acknowledge what it has done against the people of Syria.

He, praising Pakistan’s role in the process of talks between Tehran and Washington, said: “Islamabad has not yet put forward a proposal for mediation between Syria and Iran.”

Regarding Israel, al-Shibani said it is still “too early” to discuss any kind of strategic agreement and stressed that Syria’s main priority is to end Israel’s attacks.

Al-Shibani said: “Syria is an independent country” and emphasized that Israel should not determine alliances or Syria’s participation.
