Based on a poll by the Iran International Instagram page, more than 92 percent of more than 10,000 participants said that under current conditions in the country they have no desire to get married or have children.

Saba Alaleh, a psychologist, told Iran International that marriage is a long-term decision, and when a person feels insecurity and instability about the future, they distance themselves from accepting such an obligation.

According to her, lack of confidence in the future among many Iranian citizens has reduced the desire to get married and have children.
