Following the publication of reports about an alleged Islamic Republic review of an attack on U.S. positions in Bulgaria, requests have been raised to hold a security meeting with the participation of the country’s president.
Citing sources close to the Iranian government, the Financial Times reported that Iranian forces have been considering an attack on U.S. military assets in southeastern Europe, including Bulgaria, in the event of an escalation of the war.
At the same time, NATO has assured Bulgaria that, in the event of any possible attack, it will be ready to defend its allies.
