🔺Basnet: We will announce new secondary sanctions against the Islamic Republic every week

▪The U.S. Treasury Secretary said this ministry will likely announce new secondary sanctions every week to increase economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and, in the first step, will target banks.

▪Scott Basnet, in an interview with Reuters and ahead of the G20 finance ministers meeting, said: “You will see a lot more cases of this kind every week. We’ll start with banks and tell them that it’s not acceptable to hold Iran’s money and to help this government.”

▪The U.S. Treasury Department launched a “campaign of economic exclusion” against the Islamic Republic last week.
