🔶 Bessent: I don’t know how Iran’s representatives at the UN will return to Iran

Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, on Wednesday, September 23 (October 3), in an in-depth interview with Fox News, addressed, among other things, Washington’s relations with Beijing as well as the issue of Iran.

He, while noting that much of foreign flights to Iran have been suspended, said: “Iran’s foreign flights have probably been suspended by more than 80 or 90 percent. I don’t know how Iran’s representatives at the United Nations are going to get back home.”

Bessent described this situation as part of Washington’s “economic expulsion” campaign against Tehran and added: “We have put the Iranian government under pressure in a way that they have never seen before.” He, while referring to the unprecedented current pressure on the Islamic Republic, said the goal of the United States is to cut off the flow of financial resources to the Iranian government.
