🔶 Head of the EU Council calls for an end to Iran’s attacks on neighboring countries

Antonio Costa, head of the EU Council, said on Thursday, September 24 (Mehr 2), following his meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, that he had had a frank and in-depth conversation with Iran’s president.

Costa said in the meeting that dialogue is the only way to resolve differences and conflicts and to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The head of the EU Council urged the Islamic Republic to end its attacks on neighboring countries and to take steps toward the full restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

He also called on Tehran to resume cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and added that the European Union is ready to support any diplomatic efforts in this regard.
