CENTCOM: During Iran’s naval blockade, we allowed more than 40 ships carrying aid to pass

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it allowed more than 40 vessels carrying humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade of Iranian ports by the United States.

In a post on the X social network, CENTCOM wrote that its forces, from mid-July—coinciding with the renewed maritime blockade of Iran’s ports—have “rerouted 71 commercial ships, disabled 3 ships, and boarded 2 ships to ensure compliance with regulations.”

Recently, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the U.S. naval blockade may continue “indefinitely.”
