🔶 CENTCOM rejects reports about the death of seven sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) denied reports about the deaths of seven sailors in a physical altercation aboard the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln,” as well as reports of an increase in cases in which the ship’s crew have been thinking about suicide.

On Thursday, August 13 (22 Mordad), CENTCOM issued a statement on the X network (formerly Twitter), saying that “none of the forces deployed on this aircraft carrier” had died. The military command added that the only sailor who fell overboard on August 3 (12 Mordad) was rescued quickly and safely.

A statement from the U.S. Central Command also said that “the reenlistment rate for the crew of this carrier is 84.4 percent and is among the highest rates among U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.”

CENTCOM said that the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group, after more than 260 days at sea, carrying out 10,000 flights and using 1.5 million pounds of munitions, is still continuing its mission.
