Media have reported a devastating explosion at an ammunition factory in Italy.

The factory is the former “Simmel Difesa” ammunition plant, which is currently owned by the defense company “KNDS Ammo Italy” (KNDS Ammo Italy).

According to ANSA, Italy’s official news agency, the explosion occurred at this plant, which produces medium- and large-caliber ammunition, near Rome.

Reportedly, the explosion caused a fire.

At the moment, several firefighting teams are trying to contain the blaze at the accident site.

So far, no report has been released about possible casualties or financial losses.
