The Deputy Minister of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic announced the return of 50% of the capacity of the damaged refineries of South Pars to production mode.

Ahmad Zarratekar said that during the attacks in late Esfand, four gas refineries of South Pars were taken offline and gas production from this field decreased by 230 million cubic meters.

He said that by the end of Shahrivar, nearly 100 million cubic meters of this production reduction had been compensated for and restored, but still more than 120 million cubic meters of gas loss must be added to the country’s winter gas shortage.

According to a report by the Statistical Center, at the peak of last winter’s consumption, Iran produced about 840 million cubic meters of gas, and the country’s gas shortage was 250 million cubic meters; a development that caused gas delivery to industries and power plants to drop by 40% compared with summer.
