🔺 A Mahan Air commercial flight landed in southern China on Wednesday from Tehran, despite new US sanctions.

▪ The landing took place despite a threat by the United States to ground companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran starting from the same day.

▪ Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said today in response to a question about accepting these flights that Beijing’s position is consistent and that it opposes unilateral and unlawful sanctions.

▪ On Monday, the US Treasury Secretary had warned that starting today “all Iranian airlines around the world will be grounded.” He added: “If they land, you cannot fuel them, provide airport services, or sell tickets, otherwise you will be excluded from the dollar system.”
