🔸After the ban that Donald Trump imposed on coverage of presidential events by CNN and two other media outlets, five major U.S. television networks, in an act of protest, refrained from covering White House news.

🔸CNN, one of the five U.S. news media organizations present in the White House press pool for the live television broadcast of presidential events, was scheduled to cover the U.S. president’s trip to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly on Monday and Tuesday, 30 and 31 Shahrivar.

🔸In response to this ban, the five television networks ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and even Fox News, which is close to the Trump administration, reacted to the issue in a joint statement.

🔸The statement said: “Access to accurate and independent information about the performance of the government is of fundamental importance to the public. No government should restrict a news organization because of disagreement with its way of covering the news.”

🔸However, the U.S. government says the purpose of this ban is only to counter fake news, and the White House “has not attacked the free press.”
