Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, announced on the social network X his meeting with Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in New York and wrote: “We decided to act jointly to reduce tensions in energy markets, while protecting critical infrastructure in the Middle East and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Macron added: “We will coordinate our efforts to reach an agreement to halt attacks on energy infrastructure and non-military infrastructure in Ukraine.”

He emphasized: “Civilians must be protected and serious negotiations about the terms for establishing peace between Russia and Ukraine must begin as soon as possible.”
