Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said: “The Secret Service was the main decision-maker in my covert transfer to another aircraft.” He added that in matters related to his own security, he follows the decisions of the U.S. Secret Service and the military.
According to Fox News, in response to reports about his transfer from one aircraft to another during a security operation in Ankara last month, Trump said the move apparently was carried out due to the Islamic Republic’s threat to assassinate him.
Trump said: “This was entirely up to the Secret Service. I only do what they want.”
He added: “They wanted me to travel on another aircraft. In terms of safety, there was no difference, but because they wanted it, I did it as well.”
Trump also said: “I think there was a threat. I didn’t really ask too many questions about it. I receive many threats.”
He also said that the airline that was provided to him after his covert departure from Turkey to continue his journey was at greater risk.
