Emirates Global Aluminium announced that its smelter at Al Tuylаha, following the attack by the Islamic Republic, continues to operate at 18% capacity and is expected to return to previous production levels in early 2027.

The Islamic Republic’s attack in Farvardin on this plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes led to its emergency shutdown and brought the global aluminium price close to the highest level in four years. This large plant is the largest aluminium smelter in the Middle East.

In its earnings report, the company said that production of molten metal is expected to reach pre-incident levels in the first quarter of 2027, and added that it is working to bring this timeline forward. The first production cell was restarted on 5 Khordad.
