🔻 Fighting between extremist settlers and Israeli security forces in the West Bank
Israeli security forces have clashed with settlers who have confined two Palestinian families to their homes in the occupied West Bank.
The forces moved in to drive the settlers away from homes located in the village of Qasra in the southeast of Nablus; however, according to local reports, more settlers arrived on the scene and the security forces withdrew.
Since Sunday, 18 Mordad/9 August, these extremist settlers have set up a new center and outpost, cut off the water and electricity supply to Palestinian homes, and prevented residents from entering or leaving.
According to The Times of Israel, on Tuesday (11 August) the Israeli army condemned this settlers’ action and called it “illegal, shameful, and unacceptable,” but did not explain why it still has not dismantled their center.
