.. Former Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and two of his associates were sentenced to death by a Damascus court

🔸 A criminal court in Damascus, Syria’s capital, on Tuesday, 20 Mordad, sentenced Bashar al-Assad, the country’s deposed president, in absentia to death for the crime of “war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

🔸 The court also sentenced the former dictator’s brother, Maher al-Assad, and their cousin, Aatef Naji(b), who is referred to as “one of the direct officials responsible for suppressing the people,” to death.
