Good news and Basiji fervor from Latin America:
Israel and Venezuela resume their consular relations
Following negotiations held in recent weeks between Gideon Saar, the foreign minister, and his Venezuelan counterpart, Israel and Venezuela agreed to resume their consular relations.
The two sides agreed to establish a coordination mechanism for providing consular services to citizens of both countries, and to create an official communication channel between Israel and Venezuela that have not had diplomatic relations since 2009.
The joint statement also emphasized the importance of the relationship between the State of Israel and the Jewish community of Venezuela.
This is an important step toward strengthening relations and opening up broader horizons for cooperation between the two countries.
