Hosein Samasemi, a member of the Economic Commission of the parliament, told the Khabaronline news website: “Increasing the price of gasoline to 87,000 tomans is the peak of mismanagement. These raw proposals cause public concern. Increasing the price of gasoline under the current conditions is like a spark in a gunpowder warehouse.”
Samasemi, regarding the effects of increasing the price of gasoline on the amount consumed, said: “Those who are using gasoline now and who need it—like Snapp and taxis, and all those people who truly had to go toward such jobs—well, these will be shut down. They will pour into the streets.”
This member of parliament added: “These fuel proposals that have been raised have severe social consequences, lead, so to speak, to the emergence of social unrest, and cause disturbances.”
