Hossein Mahboubi, the spokesperson of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said in response to the United States’ attack on Larak Island that Washington will see the consequences of this action in economic and military arenas.

Mahboubi called the attack a “strategic mistake” and said that, in the view of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, this action will entail costs for the United States.

This position was raised after the August 8 attack by American forces on two launchers belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Larak Island. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had previously confirmed that the attack took place and announced it would respond to it. Initial reports from media affiliated with the Islamic Republic have reported the deaths of two people in this attack.
