Reuters reported that shipping data shows the number of cargo vessels whose passage through the Strait of Hormuz can be tracked has decreased to five per day in the final days of the week. Shipping companies are passing through the route more cautiously amid the continued attacks on vessels in the region.

Reuters added that the actual number of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz may be higher, as some vessels have turned off their automatic identification system to reduce the risk of attack. This drop in traffic has occurred as military tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue and numerous reports of attacks or threats against ships have been published.
